Chess Club                Advisor: Mr. Lake

Meeting: Monday mornings at 8:15 beginning in October 6th

The Chess Club at RCK consists of 5th grade students of all levels who are interested in either learning the rules of the game and/or taking it to a higher level. Our club initially goes over the chess pieces, basic moves, and common language. Various strategies are discussed and practiced. Every student will be given an opportunity to play the advisor. As a culminating activity, all students have the choice to participate in a Chess Tournament. 

 

Drama Club                Advisors: Mr. Clancy

Meeting: The Drama Club commences in September and concludes in mid-January.

The Drama Club of RCK is open to all students in grades 3, 4, and 5. The club offers students the opportunity to either act in the musical or be part of the stage crew. On average, 80 to 100 students participate annually. The club produces a licensed Broadway Junior musical.  Past shows include Music Man Kids, Willy Wonka Kids, and most recently Seussical Kids.  This year’s production will be Annie Kids.  This club does require commitment as there is a rigorous rehearsal schedule.

 

Intramurals                Advisors: Mr. Longobardi & Mr. Heaton

Meeting: Friday mornings at 8:25 Dates will be determined by grade level

The Lego League Club will engage in problem-solving, coding and engineering as they construct and design a LEGO robot to navigate a variety of missions. Teams will hold a friendly competition between each other throughout the duration of the club.

 

LEGO League Club                Advisors: Mrs. Rivera and Mrs. Talbot

Meeting: Monday mornings at 8:25 a.m. starting October 6, 2025

The first Lego League Club will engage in research, problem-solving, coding and engineering as they construct and design a LEGO robot to navigate a variety of missions. Teams will hold a friendly competition between each team toward the conclusion of the club.

 

STEAM Club                Advisors: Mrs. Talbot

Meeting:  Tuesday mornings at 8:25 a.m. (4th Grade) Starting October 14th
Friday mornings at 8:25 a.m. (5th Grade) Starting October 10th

The STEAM Club applies the principles of engineering and design to construct a variety of project-based activities in a team atmosphere. Students collaborate and apply problem -solving skills to improve their prototypes.

 

Student Council                Advisors: Miss Bujnicki

Meeting:  Monday mornings at 8:30. Beginning the end of September

The student council is a student representative organization that meets on Monday mornings and consists of a group of dedicated and motivated students who strive to improve our school and community environment. The students value each member’s contribution and ideas very highly as we work to meet our objectives. As an elementary student council representative, each student has a unique opportunity to learn organization, leadership, and teamwork skills. Students also assist in initiating, planning, and implementing various fundraisers and schoolwide events in order to benefit our environment and community
